The chalet is located right on a ski piste, with ski-in ski-out capabilities. Due to the location being adjacent to the ambulance zone, it is always possible to drive right to the door of the chalet (where there is adequate parking for a total of 2 cars for each of Clouseau and Maigret - a total of 4 private spaces)

 

Le Chinaillon itself is less than an hour from Geneva airport, and we can help arrange airport transfers directly to the chalet if required. Please mention this when enquiring.

Relative to other facilites, the local 'ski bus' service operates throughout the winter season and will take you around the resort, as well as into Le Grand Bornand and across to La Clusaz if required. A regular service operates during the season, with additional buses during peak periods. the chalet is just a few minutes walk from the heart of the village, where all local amenities are available - baker, butcher, newsagent, small supermarket, and several attractive bars and restaurants.

Le Chinaillon is the ski station in the commune of Le Grand Bornand and part of the Aravis ski area,with over 200 Kms of piste and lovely walking and climbing in summer through swathes of flowers, which are the main contributers to the flavour of the Reblochon cheese.

It is always possible to ski back to Le Chinaillon even on the last week-end of the season around the 26th April. It is 40 mins from Lake Annecy and 1 hour from Geneva airport. The Tour de France passes through the village most years and often hosts stop-overs, giving a chance to mingle with the participants.
